Pensioner Engagement Forum

In our 2017 newsletter, we confirmed that we were going to launch a Pensioner Engagement Forum to give you the opportunity to provide us with your thoughts on the various communications we deliver, along with providing feedback for the future content of the annual pensioner newsletter.

The third Pensioner Engagement Forum was held at the Fund's offices on 4th October 2019. It featured a guest speaker from the Alzheimer's Society who gave a very informative talk about the work the Society do in the local area.

Topics discussed in the rest of the Forum included -

  • Feedback on the changes made to the Pensioner Newsletter as a result of last year's feedback from Pensioner Engagement Forum.
  • An update on the 'Tea and Teach' pilot held at Wolverhampton Art Gallery in May 2019.
  • Feedback on the 'Planning Your Retirement Workshop' pilot held at Wolverhampton which has now been rolled out across all authorities.
  • Update on the Retirement Planning guide which is currently being produced by WMPF.
  • Nomination Form campaign - An overview of the death benefits payable as an Active and Pensioner member was provided by the Benefit Operations and Payroll Manager.
  • Review of the retirement options letter.
  • Results from the Customer Engagement pilot survey.

As a result of feedback from the group, the following action points were agreed -

  • No major changes will be made to the Pensioner Newsletter and payment dates will remain on the front.
  • Tea and Teach events will be rolled out across the rest of the West Midlands next year.
  • Agreed that all information within the Retirement Options letter should stay but suggestion that a case study could be included.

If you would like to take part in this year's forum which is taking place on Friday 9th October 2020, please email or call the Member Services Team on 01902 551869
